Ready to Apply to The Adelson School?
The Adelson School is an independent, college prep community Jewish school serving children from preschool (starting at 18 months) through the 12th grade. We encourage you to spend some time on this site learning about The Adelson School community and what it has to offer your child and your family.
Your Application and/or your Campus Visit begins with an Inquiry. We are excited to get to know more about your family and your interests.
Our Admissions Process
STEP 1: INQUIRY FORM
To begin the process, please submit the inquiry form. This creates a Veracross account, where you can begin uploading required documents.
STEP 2: INQUIRY REVIEW
Our admissions team reviews each inquiry carefully to ensure alignment with our mission and educational philosophy. Please allow up to 10 business days.
STEP 3: SCHEDULE YOUR TOUR
If your family is a good fit to move forward, the ability to schedule a campus tour will automatically appear in your Veracross portal. Tours are intentionally offered at this stage so they are purposeful and meaningful for both inquiring families and our school community.
STEP 4: APPLICATION
Upload required forms and documents, and pay $100 non-refundable application fee.
Required information includes:
- Household information
- A student questionnaire
- Prospective candidate photo
- Birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Recommendation letters

STEP 5: TESTING
As part of our admissions process, candidates complete an assessment that helps us better understand how they approach learning in a school setting.
- For Candidates applying to Kindergarten through Grade 2, we hold an in-person assessment with our Lower School faculty. This can be scheduled in your Veracross account.
- Candidates applying to Grades 3-12 will take the online ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) At-Home Test. To send your child’s results directly to The Adelson School, please use code 290505 when registering. The test fee for Grades 3-4 is $185 and for Grades 5-12 is $240.
STEP 6: VISIT / SHADOW DAY / PARENT INTERVIEW
After documents and assessments are completed and reviewed, invited candidates visit our school for a shadow day*, which helps us get to know your child in our academic environment, and for your child to experience our community.
As part of our admissions process, we also meet with parents to learn more about your family’s values, goals, and expectations. It is a key step in building a collaborative relationship to support your child’s success.
*For PreSchool: Parent interviews are held in November and December. Applicants are invited for a family play visit in January.
For K - 12: Shadow days consist of a full schedule (8:15am - 2:30pm) and lunch and snacks are provided. The Adelson School is a kosher, nut-free campus. Parent interviews are scheduled during the shadow day.
